Stress Investigation Assessments

Occupational Stress is a condition which occurs when factors relating to the job interact with the worker so as to produce a change in their psychological and/ or physiological state such that the individual can no longer continue to function in their normal way.

Under the NSW Workers Compensation Scheme no compensation is payable for psychological injury unless employment is “substantial cause” and not due to “reasonable actions” (as defined under the NSW Workers Compensation Act 1987) by the employer.

We assist workers' compensation insurers and agents of the Workers Compensation scheme to gain a greater understanding of the factors involved in individual stress claims to assist them to make informed decisions on liability. Further, we provide recommendations for the optimal management of the individual concerned moving forward to the benefit of all parties.

Stress Assessments generally involve a series of interviews with relevant parties and communication with treating professionals. The reports provided are often detailed however designed to provide clarity around events and or precipitating factors.
