Benefits of the EAP to your
Business
Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) can help manage
stress at work and at home. These programs are set up to handle
personal and emotional problems which are interfering with
work performance. Stress from outside the workplace such as
family illness or death, marital problems or financial concerns
can all interfere with our work lives. An EAP will not solve
these problems but it can give you advice on managing these
stressful situations.

How the EAP Works
All employees at induction are provided with an information
sheet and an EAP card to carry on their person in the event
of an incident or need to seek support or counselling.
Each employee and, where approved, member of immediate family,
is entitled to a pre-determined number of sessions which are
undertaken by registered psychologists. Counselling is available
for both work and non-work related issues. The sessions are
free to the employee and are covered in contractual cost arrangements
negotiated between your business and Psychological Health
Interventions. The employees understand the sessions are completely
confidential and that the service is provided by their employer
at no cost to them.
Where possible the issues are resolved through brief therapy,
where this is not possible and following their allocated sessions,
or earlier if appropriate, they are referred to the appropriate
external agency or support services.
The business is provided with a quarterly report outlining
usage and statistics on the number of immediate family vs
employees utilising the services and additional statistics
on treatment types that maintain anonymity of staff yet allow
the business to understand issues affecting its workforce.
